Messages – NAL Lists, Reunion Notices, etc.

The NAL "A List" is the default list and includes all messages. If you wish to remain here, fine, you do not have to do anything, and you will receive all messages that I send out to NAL (excepting only a small group who do not want to or cannot handle messages that include attachments*).

The NAL Group "REUNION List" is the other list and will receive messages only on REUNIONS/NOTICES OF ILLNESS/NOTICES OF DEATHS AND OBITUARIES (again excepting a small group who cannot process those messages that include attachments*).

*For those above who cannot handle attachments, should I be able, have the time, and if it is important and not long, I will try to send whatever info in the body of the message thus obviating an attachment - but I cannot guarantee that it will be transmitted as sent.

Right now the "A" list has over 90% of our alumni and the "Reunion" list the remainder for a grand total of 254 alumni addresses (as of October 2013). As always, we need to try to encourage our snail-mailers to graduate to e-mail and, therefore, cut down on our snail-mail expenses.

There will be some messages sent to all because of information that I feel needs to get to everyone; hence, the ALLNAL address in the subject line. I will try to keep these messages to a minimum, as that really is the essence of having the two groups. Also, once in a while, I may send an ALLNAL message that I think is important to everyone even though it may not strictly meet the above criteria. Please just accept or delete as necessary.

If you wish to make a modification now or in the future, just let me know, and I will make the change as soon as possible.

On the Annual Reunion notification – I try to send it first as an MS document, then as a PDF, and finally for those who cannot receive either, in the body of the message (this last resort usually results in distortion of the message). I do maintain separate distribution groups for the PDF and “In Body” groups, so if you do not receive the documents, please advise, and we can discuss how you need to receive them.

On the passing of our fellow employees: I have made it a policy to continue to keep the e-addresses of our deceased personnel on our lists because in many cases, family members are also part of our NAL family and wish to continue receive news published. I only delete e-addresses at the request of the family or when messages are continually rejected.
